The Bull at Stanford Dingley is a country pub which has, from 11 am every 3rd Saturday from March to Septemberish, a gathering of interesting vehicles.

The Bull is west of Reading, best accessed from Junction 12 of the M4 (detailed directions below) at OS Ref

All types of wheeled vehicles are welcome, from ancient relics to modern classics and everything else in between.  As long as the Bull thinks it's suitable, it's allowed in!

The bars are to be open from 11.00 'til 3.00 approx, and food service is available from 12.00, generally 'til 2.30.  Subject to planning permission (which they have to get in their area because of the Conservation Area in which they are located), from April to September they will have a covered outside bar and barbecue area to avoid queuing inside, and will also be erecting a marquee in case they suffer one of the likely summer downpours.  Alternatively, people can "picnic in the paddock" if they wish (no barbecues).

Competitions:

There are 2 going on. One will be in Classic & Sportscar, and gives readers the opportunity to win overnight stays at The Bull during a Classic Weekend; I believe this will be in the March issue. The other will take place every month in the paddock, and involves people guessing how many vehicles will visit by 3.00pm on the day. All guesses must be made by 1.00pm, and cost £1. The winner is the person who guesses nearest; they receive half of the competition money (the balance goes to charity) and a ride in the car of their choice. It therefore stands that if you bring a vehicle to one of the Bull’s events, and the competition winner wants a ride, you have to be prepared to give it!

The Thames Valley section of the Austin-Healey Club is hosting a “meet” at the Bull on Saturday 21st July – all are welcome! We will be given an area in their paddock at which to gather. They have asked for some guidance on numbers, so please let us know if you intend coming - email.
