MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY’S REPORT
Membership stands at 203, against this
stage last year when it was 205. It seems to have settled at about the 200
level, having increased steadily over the last 5 years from about 175-180. Only
8 members resigned (or had to be cancelled as they did not pay up!) this year,
which was the lowest rate of attrition in the last 7 years.
The membership situation will be changing
as from the next year start (April 1 2007) as the Club has
decided to centralise the process and use an outside agency so that section
secretaries will become “Membership Liaison Officers”. It remains to be seen
how this will work – and to what level of members’ satisfaction. One major
change will have to be made as result of the poor performance of the previous
Direct Debit company, whereby all members who wish to
continue the DD process will have to cancel their current DD and sign up for a
new one.
